Course Assessment

You will be required to sit three paper based written exams. Each paper makes up a percentage of your overall A Level Physics qualification as set out below:

• Written Exams
  • Paper 1 Advanced Physics I: 1 hour 45 minutes – 30% of A-level.
  • Paper 2 Advanced Physics II: 1 hour 45 minutes – 30% of A-level.
  • Paper 3 General and Practical Principles in Physics: 2 hours 30 minutes – 40% of A-level.

During the course, you will be required to complete learning activities, tests or assignments to show your knowledge and understanding of the units you have just learned. They do not count towards your overall A Level Physics qualification. They are marked by your course tutor and feedback will be provided with each completed unit.

Entry Requirements

We do advise that you have achieved a GCSE Science Double Award or GCSE Physics at grade 4 / C or above, or an equivalent (GCSE Astronomy) qualification before enrolling onto this course. This A Level Physics course is at difficulty level 3 – equivalent to a BTEC or a 60 credit qualification.
