Course Assessment

You will be required to sit three paper based written exams. Each paper makes up a percentage of your overall A Level Chemistry qualification as set out below:

  • Written Exams
    • Paper 1: 2 hours, 35% of A-level – 105 marks.
    • Paper 2: 2 hours, 35% of A-level – 105 marks.
    • Paper 3: 2 hours, 30% of A-level – 90 marks.

During the course, you will be required to complete learning activities, tests or assignments to show your knowledge and understanding of the units you have just learned. They do not count towards your overall A Level Chemistry qualification. They are marked by your course tutor and feedback will be provided with each completed unit.

Entry Requirements

We do advise that you have achieved a combination of GCSE Science Double Award or GCSE Chemistry at grade 4 / C or above; and GCSE Maths at grade 4, or an equivalent qualification before enrolling onto this course. This A Level Chemistry course is at difficulty level 3 – equivalent to a BTEC or a 60 credit qualification. This course is suitable for most learners of all ages.
